Duties:

1)         Update websites

  • Primarily the Wildlife Watch website and Facebook pages, however maybe called upon to update The West Wales Chronicle.
  • Ensure that articles and press releases are put on the site by checking emails and relevant websites.
  • Read the articles/press releases and ensure corporate image/editorial policy is followed
  • Check articles for errors and amend e.g. spelling and changing tone (for web articles, they will write about themselves and mention the word us. Change from the word us to their name etc)
  • Go online and find new content/articles/pictures for the site

2)         Project work

  • Answer phone/emails
  • Deal with queries
  • Help look after project accounts
  • Help prepare grant applications and end of grant reports
  • Organising meetings and minute taking

Coffee Morning Assistant

Our projects hold a number of coffee mornings per month. The people that attend have varying needs.   We require someone who has empathy, is willing to listen and sign post people to other organisations so that can get help. Duties: 1)         Coffee Mornings

Sales & Marketing Assistant Duties:

  • Handling sales phone calls and e-mails
  • Communicating with clients prior to their course and recording all correspondence
  • Compiling client Information Packs
  • Assisting with the copy writing of marketing materials
  • Developing and implementing ideas for the marketing and sales of Your Llanelli and
  • Utilising social networking opportunities to facilitate sales and increase brand awareness

Wales Wildlife Watch

Project coordinator The Wildlife Watch project will look at setting up a group of volunteers who help promote the wildlife generally within Wales but currently focusing on Carmarthenshire. The project’s aim is:   Help us look after and document the rich and diverse Carmarthenshire Wildlife.   Its Mission: To observe, protect and document the diverse Carmarthenshire Wildlife.  

Duties:

1) Project work

  • Help develop the Wildlife Watch concept
  • Contact relevant organisations for information, training and/or grants
  • Be the main contact for the project, attend relevant meetings
  • Work with other Llanellitown.com projects to organise project activities

Walk Leader

Walk Leader  

The Group plans to walk once or twice each month and had its first walk in November 2013.  The group intends to take a variety of walks around Llanelli and other parts of the County.  All are welcome.  The walks will be easy and at a pace to allow everyone to take in all that the location of the walk has to offer.   All volunteers are given free health walk leader* and first aid training, may claim travelling expenses for any travel undertaken in connection with their training, finding suitable walking routes and leading Walking Well walks. Volunteers are provided with Third Party insurance cover, maps and other walking materials to help them carry out their tasks.  

Duties:

1)         Walks

  • Work with the walks coordinator to identify suitable walks
  • Risk assess the walks
  • Help the walkers on the walk
